Acts 2: 42-47

ree

42 Every believer was faithfully devoted to following the teaching] of the apostles. Their hearts were mutually linked to one another] sharing communion and coming together regularly for prayer.

43 A deep sense of holy awe swept over everyone, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders.

44 All the believers were in fellowship as one body,] and they shared with one another whatever they had.

45 Out of generosity they even sold their assets to distribute the proceeds to those who were in need among them.

46 Daily they met together in the temple courts and in one another’s homes to celebrate communion. They shared meals together with joyful hearts and tender humility.

47 They were continually filled with praises to God, enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord kept adding to their number daily those who were coming to life.”

What is community?

Community – A feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals.

In this chapter in Acts a lot happened, these believers had just received the Holy Spirit for the first time and Peter’s Pentecost sermon. When you read the scriptures, you see how Christ is in the center of all of this. Believers were devoted to one another, spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

God desire’s us to be in community with one another. Being in a community with Christ followers is a powerful and beautiful thing.

The ability to do life with the body of Christ is life changing. Being in community is needed. We can’t and wasn’t meant to walk alone in life.

Praying, worshipping, being able to talk life, celebrate, have get togethers, going through the bible, hold others accountable (The list can go on and on) and more with one another are a blessing that comes with being in community centered around Christ.

God blesses the time when we’re with him and in community. His presence is felt when the body of Christ is together.

As you reflect today. I encourage you to find a church home, bible study group, or even friends that are devoted to Christ. As you spend more time in those areas you start to see habits in your life change!

God is LOVE!
