Proverbs 25:21-23

21“Is your enemy hungry? Buy him lunch. Win him over with your kindness.
22Your surprising generosity will awaken his conscience and God will reward you with favor”
Love and kindness shouldn’t stop for the people you like! It should be display to any and everybody, even your enemies.
The world shows and tells us that it’s okay to hate the ones who hate you. It is human for us to naturally act in that way. We see this happen all time.
But God wants us to do the opposite.
In these verses, it means more than just buying someone lunch (Even though this could be something you do as well). It is more talking about the heart posture of being kind and loving to your enemy.
Just by our actions God can move in a moraceous way. He can change hearts of others just from our loving response. Just imagine a positive and loving response to someone who wronged you. That one person may feel different than they did before.
Jesus is a prime example. There are so many people in this world who mock and joke about Jesus Christ, but he is still merciful / gracious / loving.
Matthew 5:44 says,
“However, I say to you, love your enemy, bless the one who curses you, do something wonderful for the one who hates you, and respond to the very ones who persecute you by praying for them.”
Choose LOVE first!
LOVE changes!
God is LOVE!
