Psalm 41:10-13

Psalm 41:10-13
“So Lord, please don’t desert me when I need you! Give me grace and get me back in my feet so I can triumph over them all. Then I’ll know you’re pleased with me when you allow me to taste of victory over all my foes. Now stand up for me and don’t let me fall, for I’ve walked with integrity. Keep me before your face forever. Everyone praise the Lord God of Israel, always and forever! For he is from eternity past and will remain for the eternity to come. That’s the way it will be forever. Faithful is our King! Amen!”
David presents this poetic Psalm as he is talking to God.
King David is one of the most popular characters in the bible and is commonly known for his great victory over Goliath. But David is also known for his poetic songs in the book of Psalms.
A man after God’s own heart is what David was.
What I love about David and his relationship with God is that David was always honest with God. He brought his frustrations up to God, and God was never afraid of what he brought to him. David wasn’t perfect but God had favor over his life, because he was the Lord’s anointed one.
In this Psalm, David is expressing that he needs the Lord. He isn’t afraid or to prideful to admit that. He prayed and asked for mercy and grace that the Lord will raise him back up.
David knew that God’s will for him will come to pass. When it came to being victorious over his enemies, David had a confidence that the Lord will come through. David’s faith wasn’t shaken.
To end the chapter, David finishes with praise. Regardless of the trials and hardships he went through, he always came back with praises to God.
God hears your cries. He knows what you’re struggling with, and he is not afraid of what you bring to him.
We can boldly come to the Lord with anything and everything knowing that it has already came to pass.
We can say to him “I need you Lord” and he will be right there. Always and forever!
David was a man after God’s own heart.
We can always strive to be after God’s own heart.
