Philippians 1:12-30
“God’s Plan > You Circumstances”
In chapter 1 of Philippians, Paul greets the church of Philippi and prays for the Philippians. When Paul prays you can feel the passion that is behind his words. The prayer is bold, confident, and with understanding that the Lord (who hears all and sees all) will answer!
As the chapter continues Paul talks about that he is in prison. But this doesn’t stop the ministry that Paul was doing.
In verse 12 it says, “I want you to know, dear ones, what happened to me has not hindered, but helped my ministry of preaching the gospel, causing it to expand and spread to many people.”
I wanted to talk about this chapter because this is another example of the power of God. We have Paul who is in prison. Before that happened Paul was going strong in his ministry. Sharing the gospel to others and bringing people closer to Jesus.
God used Paul’s current circumstances for the kingdom. Through Paul’s imprisonment more believers became more courageous in the Lord and was bold to preach his word.
Paul being in prison didn’t hindered or stop his ministry. In fact, it even helped and better his ministry of preaching the gospel.
Through all of Paul’s imprisonment, he was overjoyed and filled with the Lord. Paul wasn’t afraid or frustrated. He was filled with confidence, passion, joy, and the Holy Spirit.
God used the circumstances of someone in prison (Paul) that turned out to be a positive and a blessing to others.
What do you think he can do for you through your circumstances?
God doesn’t look at your circumstances and falls because there is no way to overcome it, no he uses that and you to overcome it for his glory!
We can be joyful through the hard times knowing that God isn’t done with us yet. God will come through. He hears our prayers and isn’t afraid of our circumstances!
