"Awake, O Sleeper"

Ephesians 5:14

“Awake, O sleeper”

“Arise you sleeper! Rise up from the dead and the Anointed One will shine his light into you”

In this verse Paul is warning the church of Ephesus to wake up!

Paul isn’t speaking literally, but he is figuratively. When are “asleep” we’re in darkness. When darkness is present in our life it puts us in a dangerous condition.

It takes getting in the word and convictions to realize the darkness that we are in.

When we start to take notice that’s when we become “awake”. The awareness of knowing this helps put forth the steps to act in the light.

Being in community, getting in the word, prayer, and more puts us in the narrow direction.

When we start to slip away from God, we can always be confident that the Lord is waiting for us to take that first step back to him. With that he meets us where we are at!

God is LIGHT!
