Why 29:11?

…Because God has a plan!

As a kid growing up, I loved sports. Not many sports but only two. Baseball and basketball. I wasn’t always the fastest at running bases and the best shooter on the basketball team, but I always knew I wanted to play sports. While in middle school, I took a leap of faith and decided to take up basketball more seriously. I wasn’t the best player on my team. Nor was the fastest, strongest, and the most athletic. But one thing that developed at a young age was working hard and how that looked like.

I knew then that I wanted to pursue basketball as a career and that I had to step up my game to be able to reach that goal. One thing is for sure though…the path was not easily traveled. The journey was a roller coaster ride of doubt and purpose. High school came with a lack of recognition from colleges to comparing myself to everyone else’s basketball journey.

Furthermore, college came with mental and physical challenges. Challenges that had me consider letting basketball go and quitting. But by the grace of God he gave me the strength to continue to pursue the sport I love to play. But with an injury and a decision of whether or not to move to another program. I vividly remember asking God to transform me wherever I go to school next. God, in his perfect time, provided me the opportunity to join a program showed me from day one that they were willing to invest priority further affirming the as God closes one door, he opens up another. My junior year in college was by far my best year yet. Finishing with my junior year at Asbury University was by far my best year of playing basketball. I found the love of the game again…and this time it came with recognition.
